Resumen

MIRANDA PAREDES, Gloria Maribel et al. Promoting diversity in the physical education classroom: an inclusive approach. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502056.  Epub 13-Mar-2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13731262.

In the context of inclusive education, the importance of integrating all students, especially those with disabilities, into educational contexts is highlighted. Hence, the main objective of this article is to identify innovative strategies of teachers to encourage the participation of all students in the physical education class regardless of their abilities. The methodology used in this study was descriptive and exploratory, based on a questionnaire validated by UNESCO that was applied to 39 teachers of basic general education and physical education of the "Rafael Cruz Cevallos" School of Basic Education in the city of Quito, Ecuador, which has several students with inclusive education needs. In conclusion, the study underlines that inclusion in physical education is not only a right of students with disabilities, it is also a shared responsibility of all members of the educational community. To achieve true insertion, it is essential to eliminate existing barriers and adopt practices that value diversity and promote the participation of all students and contribute to their physical, emotional and social development in order to integrate children more effectively, regardless of their abilities, abilities or specific needs, in physical and sports activities.
