Abstract
RAMIREZ PRECIADO, Marialita Catalina; RODRICH IGLESIAS, Samuel; LUNA DE LOS SANTOS, Iris Marjorie and VELASQUEZ CARRASCO, Luzmila Yolanda. Construction and validation of a coercive micromachismo scale (MMC-18) in a population of university adults. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502060. Epub Mar 13, 2025. The objective of the present study was based on designing and validating the psychometric properties of a scale that measures coercive micromachismo in university adults, with the purpose of identifying specific elements for intervention and prevention measures. Methodologically, an instrumental quantitative approach was followed, considering 526 adult students from a Peruvian public university (257 women and 269 men) as a non-probabilistic study sample. To validate the scale, a discriminative analysis of the items was developed in order to obtain the reliability and factorial structure, while the construct validity was addressed from the exploratory factorial analysis, evidencing an adequate sample of indicators by presenting a KMO index. =.9484 and a statistically significant p-value (P<.05) in the Bartlet test. In its final version, the scale has 18 items distributed in two factors: subordination and stereotypes. The grading process showed evidence of non-linearity with percentiles and the scale reached a reliability level of α = 0.93, therefore it is concluded that the scale has the validity and reliability properties to accurately measure coercive micromachismo.
