This article provides a comprehensive analysis of virtual education in Peru during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the significant challenges faced by those with limited access to technology and educational resources. It highlights the importance of implementing inclusive policies and providing teacher training in current technology to address these disparities and ensure that education maintains its quality and equity even in times of crisis. The research is based on a qualitative approach and a comprehensive review of the scientific literature, a process guided by the PRISMA method. In addition, it examined how university students perceive virtuality in education, the effectiveness of teachers in this modality and skills in the digital medium. The need to strengthen these competencies in both students and teachers to improve the overall quality of online education was highlighted. Socioeconomic inequalities in accessibility to digital media were identified, as well as the importance of implementing policies to reduce these gaps and promote equal opportunities for all students.
