Abstract

OROZCO MORENO, Zaida Lorena; CARRANCO MADRID, Soraya Del Pilar  and  LOPEZ VELASCO, Jhon Eduardo. Evaluation of Psychosocial Risks in the Workplace and Their Impact on Employees' Mental Health. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502082.  Epub Apr 04, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13876644.

The assessment of psychosocial risks in the workplace has become increasingly relevant in the workplace, given its impact on employees' mental health. Therefore, the central problem of this study lies in the lack of systematic and adequate assessments of psychosocial risks in the workplace, which is why the research presented aimed to evaluate psychosocial risks in work environments that impact on the mental health of employees. Methodologically, a descriptive-correlational work was developed, using a mixed approach, using a Copenhagen Psychosocial Factors Questionnaire (COPSOQ) to assess the presence of psychosocial risks, while the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) were used to measure mental health. The population was made up of employees from various organizations and sectors in Ecuador, applying a non-probabilistic convenience sampling to choose a representative group of 100 employees who voluntarily participated in the study. The results revealed high risks around emotional demands and work-family conflict, affecting employees' mental health. In this way, moderate levels of anxiety and perceived stress were identified, with areas of improvement in social support and internal communication, which allows the development of strategies to promote a healthier and more productive work environment.

Keywords : Psychosocial factors; work stress; mental health.
