CHOCHO GUAMAN, Melva Lucía et al. Healthy eating through the cultivation of school gardens with the Project-Based Learning methodology. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.2, e502089. Epub Apr 04, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13901161.
This article presents the results of a project based on the Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology in 210 students of eighth, ninth and tenth grades of General Basic Education (EGB). The objective was to implement school gardens and evaluate the impact generated in the participants. A mixed approach involving questionnaires, direct observation and semi-structured interviews was used for data collection. The analysis of these data involved conducting a thematic analysis to identify patterns, as well as using SPSS software for descriptive statistics and related samples tests. The results show an increase in students' knowledge of food sustainability and an improvement in awareness of the importance of a nutritious diet. In addition, an improvement in academic performance was observed, highlighting the effectiveness of PBL as an educational methodology that promotes practical skills, teamwork and social awareness.
