The objective of this review article is to analyze the contexts in which emerging technologies are implemented in state entities in Latin America. A research study was carried out with a qualitative document-based approach. After an evaluation of relevance, 36 articles have been selected to support this study. It is crucial to establish a clear structure to advance in the realization of actions that support scientific work based on technological processes. It is concluded that the potential of emerging technologies boosts the economies of Latin American countries to improve people's quality of life, including the sustainability of the planet. However, it is imperative to have a thorough understanding of the design and scope of these technologies in a responsible manner.
