Abstract

The study focuses on determining soft skills in university students through a systematic review. To achieve this, the following specific objectives are set out: 1) To determine teamwork skills in university students in Piura; 2) To assess leadership skills in university students in Piura; and 3) To determine effective communication in university students in Piura. The methodology employed consisted of the search and analysis of academic articles, reports and studies published between 2018 and 2023 in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo. The results of the systematic review indicate that the most frequently highlighted soft skills are effective communication, teamwork, adaptability and problem solving. The studies analyzed show a positive relationship between soft skills training and employability, as well as students' academic and personal success. It was concluded that the inclusion of soft skills development programs in the university curriculum is essential to prepare students for the challenges in the workplace.
