The objective of this study is to identify the fundamental aspects of the definition, implementation and importance of Lean Manufacturing as a productivity tool. A systematic review of articles located in the bibliographic databases WorldWide Science Scielo, Redalyc and Dialnet was carried out. Twenty articles were evaluated. The aspects considered in the review were: definitions, implementation and importance, and it was carried out under the systematic review methodology, using the PRISMA strategy. The results showed a trend towards the implementation of Lean Manufacturing as a productivity tool, since it allows the continuous improvement of companies in terms of production and obtaining greater profitability.
