Abstract

ABAD APONTE, Livia Carolina et al. Pedagogical strategies and challenges in education for the formation of ecological awareness in students. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050305.  Epub Mar 09, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14019027.

This study analyzes the pedagogical strategies and challenges in the implementation of forestation projects in the province of Loja, Ecuador. The objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of these activities on students' ecological awareness. A quantitative approach was used with surveys applied to 120 teachers and 300 students. The results indicate that the most effective strategies include the active participation of students and the integration of environmental topics in the subjects, with 45% of students increasing their environmental awareness and 30% adopting sustainable practices. Challenges identified were lack of material and financial resources, lack of training in environmental education, and poor institutional support. There was a positive correlation between teachers ' and students' perceptions of success. Although afforestation projects effectively promote ecological awareness, there is a need to increase institutional support and strengthen teacher training to ensure their sustainability.

Keywords : eco-efficiency; sustainability; environmental development.
