Abstract

JUAREZ PACCOTAIPE, María Trinidad; LOPEZ CHOQUE, Juan Pablo  and  CARCAUSTO CALLA, Wilfredo. New challenges of leadership management in America’s schools in the post-pandemic era. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050315.  Epub Mar 11, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14051807.

Leading an educational institution is a complex task, and the role of school leaders involves constantly facing challenges in terms of the four pillars of management: strategy, pedagogy, communitarianism and administration. This study aims to describe the new challenges of school management in American schools in the post-pandemic era through a systematic review of the academic literature. Scientific articles published between 2022 and 2024 on school management and leadership in Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Mexico, in a period called “new normal” or “post-pandemic,” were analyzed. The findings highlight four key issues for principals: developing educational leadership skills that encompass not only pedagogical knowledge, but also competencies in public management; fostering inclusion within the school community; promoting shared leadership with democratic practices; and, finally, facing diverse challenges, many of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Keywords : educational leadership; school inclusion; post-pandemic management.
