The objective of the study was to determine whether there was a significant relationship between emotional dependence and partner abuse in women in the district of Morales, San Martín region, in 2024. The research was of a basic type, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and predictive design. After applying non-probabilistic sampling at the convenience of the researcher, 312 women participated. Regression results showed that the proposed model evidenced an adequate fit (F-test = 509.856; p < 0.001), indicating that emotional dependence (β = 0.789, p < 0.001) predicts partner violence (adjusted R² = 0.621). The R² results allowed us to determine a large positive effect of emotional dependence on intimate partner violence. Likewise, the t-values and the β coefficient of the variables in question were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Therefore, the importance of addressing emotional dependence as an aspect of prevention and treatment to mitigate intimate partner violence is highlighted.
