Abstract

MENDOZA LAZ, Pasqueline Elizabeth et al. Motivation and its importance in meaningful learning. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050328.  Epub Mar 18, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14217937.

Meaningful learning is a process in which the student acquires knowledge and is able to use it in his or her daily life. For this to happen, adequate motivation is required. The present study aims to determine the relevance of motivation in the teaching-learning process for the achievement of meaningful learning. Surveys were applied to various interest groups, such as students, teachers and parents of the tenth year of basic education. The results showed a high rate of relevance of motivation in the acquisition of meaningful learning. It is concluded that teachers recognize motivation as a determining factor for students' meaningful learning. Although most of them implement methods and resources that foster motivation, areas for improvement were identified in the sustained use of attractive didactic resources and in the strengthening of critical expression skills.

Keywords : meaningful learning; motivation; critical expression.
