IMAN-TINEO, Gloria Elizabeth et al. Strengthening social skills in virtual education: a socioemotional program for basic education teachers. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050347. Epub 29-Mar-2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14271410.
The present study was carried out in four public institutions of Regular Basic Education in Tumbes, in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context. The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of a socio-emotional program in the development of social skills in 110 teachers. The research, with a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design, included the application of a questionnaire in pretest and posttest, the instrument applied was that of Goldstein (1978), composed of 50 questions, to measure social skills in six categories. A probabilistic sampling, under a longitudinal design; The Student's 'T' hypothesis statistical test was applied, the results of which showed statistical significance (p < 0.05), confirming that the implemented program significantly improved the social skills of the teachers. After the intervention, 59% of the teachers rated themselves as “Good”, and 34% as “Excellent”. Notable improvements were seen in specific areas such as aggression management skills (68%) and planning (57%), both with a rating of “Excellent.” At the “Good” level, advanced skills (53%), managing feelings (54%), stress control (61%) and general social skills (61%) were evaluated with favorable results. Therefore, the program had a positive and significant impact on the emotional and social development of teachers.
