Abstract

JARAMILLO BAZURTO, Nubia Victoria  and  TOMALA CHAVARRIA, Mónica Dolores. Quality assessment for educational accreditation. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050359.  Epub May 03, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14501734.

Quality assessment for educational accreditation is configured as an exhaustive and rigorous control mechanism, aimed at continuous improvement in Higher Education Institutions. This process has been implemented in recent decades in response to the growing demands of society. The objective of this research was to explore quality assessment for educational accreditation through a systematic review. It was developed with a qualitative and descriptive approach; databases such as Scopus, Scielo and Dialnet were used, and terms such as “educational quality” and “educational accreditation” were employed. The COVIDENCE program was applied together with the guidelines of the PRISMA method for the review and selection of articles. Inclusion criteria were established: year of publication (2019-2024), population (Higher Education Institutions) and language of publication (Spanish and English). From a total of 465 articles, 15 were selected that met these criteria. The results indicate that quality assessment in the context of accreditation, through various parameters and indicators, is an essential process that ensures transparency and continuous improvement in Higher Education Institutions. This approach makes it possible to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with relevant standards. In addition, this mechanism not only strengthens confidence in education, but also promotes a culture of quality and a commitment to excellence.
