Abstract

LI BARDALES, Vicenta; DUENAS LUJAN, Raúl Elías; CORONEL CASTILLO, Eric Gustavo  and  VILA HUAMAN, Pablo. Environmental education and social responsibility in a higher education institution. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e0503100.  Epub May 25, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14625270.

The general objective was to determine the influence of environmental education on social responsibility in a national university in the city of Lima, Peru. To achieve this purpose, a research methodology was used with a non-experimental design, quantitative approach, descriptive and causal and cross-sectional correlational level, in which two questionnaires were applied to a convenience sample of 183 students; previously, the instruments were validated and evaluated for their internal consistency. The results show a causal correlation between environmental education and social responsibility, with a Chi-square value of 24.339 and a p-value of less than 0.05; also, with a pseudo Nagelkerke's R-square of 0.622. Likewise, students present a higher percentage in a regular level in the two variables. In conclusion, environmental education does influence social responsibility in a national university in the city of Lima, Peru.
