ASENCIO VERA, Glenda Katiuska. Academic levelling programme to improve the learning of university students in economics in Guayaquil. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e0503103. Epub 25-Maio-2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14630503.
This study analyzed the implementation of an academic improvement program designed to improve the continuous learning of seventh semester economics students at a university in Guayaquil, Ecuador, during 2023. Significant gaps in students' prior knowledge were identified, resulting from inequalities in access to educational resources and variations in teaching quality, influenced by infrastructure and teacher training. These inequalities hindered the full participation of some students, which generated the need for an updating program. The methodology included initial assessments to diagnose deficiencies, adaptation of teaching materials and continuous monitoring of student progress. Based on lifelong learning theories and inclusive pedagogies, the program was structured to address individual needs and diverse learning styles, fostering an equitable environment. Results showed an increase in academic achievement, improvements in student participation and a reduction in initial inequalities. There was also evidence of an increase in student satisfaction, as measured by feedback surveys. In conclusion, the Academic Improvement Program had a positive impact by optimizing learning and promoting an inclusive educational environment, facilitating the continued development of students. This approach demonstrated that specific educational interventions can reduce barriers in challenging academic contexts.
