Abstract
GUAMAN LLONGO, Luis Guillermo and MACIAS VILELA, Diana Carolina. Analysis of Social Mobility in Ecuador, 2021-2023. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.3, e050332. Epub Mar 22, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14219026.
This article presents results that demonstrate the effects of social mobility through a descriptive and interpretative analysis of figures taken from technical bulletins obtained from the National Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment Survey (ENEMDU), the poverty, income and inequality reports of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), to determine the levels of economic inequality at the national level and the macroeconomic environment that generates Ecuador's general budget expenditure. Given that household income in rural and urban areas has a direct impact on levels of economic inequality, it is crucial to adopt a consistent perspective of labor income for the years under study. This will allow us to contrast these incomes with the analysis of social mobility and, in turn, identify trends that contribute to a better understanding of the long-term economic status of different social classes.
Keywords : social mobility; poverty; economic inequality.
