This study focused on exploring the effectiveness of Role play as a tool for the acquisition of English in higher education students in the province of Oxapampa, in the department of Cerro de Pasco, Peru. This work is framed in the field of Social Sciences, with a focus on learning management, adopting an innovative perspective on educational research. The research used the PRISMA approach and was based on an in-depth analysis of the socio-cultural characteristics of the students in order to develop role-playing games in line with modern approaches to language teaching. To delve deeper into the subject matter, an exhaustive scientific research was conducted that included a systematic and descriptive review of articles published in indexed journals from 2019 to the present. The selection was made using various search platforms of recognized prestige, such as SciELO, Scopus, Latindex, Redalyc and ProQuest. As for the results, it is concluded that role-play constitutes an effective strategy for learning management, favoring communicative competence and oral fluency. Its practical nature and its ability to encourage active student participation make it a valuable tool for the development of language skills.
