The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and procrastination in students from a private university in Lima. The methodology was quantitative, correlational, descriptive and cross-sectional. The population was 350 students and the sample was 183, to which questionnaires were administered for the emotional dependence variable consisting of 18 items and the procrastination variable with 30 items with a Likert scale. The findings underline that higher levels of emotional dependence are closely linked to an increase in procrastination behaviors, highlighting the influence of emotions on time management and activities. It was determined that there is a direct, favorable and relevant relationship between the variables, with a rho coefficient = 0.872 and a p-value below 5%, which statistically validates the proposed Hi.
