GONZABAY OBACO, Ricardo Alexander  and  VEGA GRANDA, Andrea Del Cisne. Economic and social factors associated with the creation and evolution of MSMEs in Ecuador. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.4, e504043.  Epub June 20, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14835091.

Although each country has its own economic system and pursues different objectives, they all share the same challenge: to consolidate economic growth for the development of their inhabitants. To do so, they must strive and seek solutions to the social factors that arise on a daily basis, as these influence business behavior and opportunities. In Ecuador, the main social factor affecting the economic sector is the insecurity caused by organized crime, which leads small, medium and large businesses to close their doors. Therefore, the objective of the study is to analyze the effects of social factors on the economic sector of the city of Machala during the period 2021-2023. For this purpose, the analytical-synthetic method was used as a research guide, analyzing the study variables and applying an exploratory approach that allowed identifying the social factors that affect the economic sector. In conclusion, it was determined that social factors such as crime and power outages are significantly impacting the economy throughout the country.
