This paper analyzes the impact of Venezuelan migration in Ecuador, focusing on two important topics, namely, security and violence. To this end, a systematic review of the literature published on the topic was conducted between 2018 and 2023 in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO. From this review, 17 relevant studies were selected using the PRISMA approach. The search included terms such as Venezuelan migration, Ecuador, violence, and security. The inclusion criteria prioritized research in English and Spanish with empirical or theoretical analysis related to the topic addressed. The findings revealed that Venezuelan migration has generated transformations in the socioeconomic and cultural dynamics of the country. Social tensions associated with cases of xenophobia, discrimination, and job insecurity were identified, which has increased the perception of insecurity in certain communities. However, community and government initiatives focused on integration and peaceful coexistence were also highlighted. The study concluded that, despite the challenges, Venezuelan migration offers opportunities to implement inclusive policies and strengthen social cohesion. Finally, a multidimensional approach is proposed to address the risks associated with migration and promote strategies that benefit both the migrant population and the host communities. This approach seeks to contribute to sustainable and equitable development in Ecuador.
