Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between management information systems and satisfaction with decision-making in public and private entities in the Lima region. This study was quantitative, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional, and of a basic type. The sample included directors or managers of 82 public and private entities in the Lima region, from whom data were collected through 2 questionnaires; one with 14 questions (variable 1) and the other with 19 questions (variable 2). According to the results, 54.9% of the managers almost always use the management information system in the institution. Therefore, there is a 54.9% satisfaction in decision-making. The value obtained was r= 0.779, indicating a moderate positive correlation between the management information system and satisfaction in decision-making. Regarding the dimensions, the correlation was: rational (0.678), intuitive (0.653), professional (0.793) and organizational (0.705). With this, it is concluded that there is a significant correlation between management information systems and satisfaction in decision-making in public and private entities in the Lima region.
