Abstract

CORONEL CASTILLO, Eric Gustavo  and  BARDALES, Vicenta Li. Relationship between university social responsibility and sustainabledevelopment in higher education. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.4, e504050.  Epub June 20, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14796956.

Sustainable development is a global challenge that requires the integration of sustainable values and practices in higher education. University Social Responsibility (USR) plays a key role in this process, as it promotes the training of professionals committed to society and the environment. This study aimed to determine the relationship between USR and sustainable development from the perspective of students from a management school in Lima, Peru. A quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design, applying surveys to a sample of 259 students. The results indicated a positive and significant correlation between USR and sustainable development, with a Spearman coefficient of 0.614 and a significance level of less than 0.05. It is concluded that it is necessary to strengthen the incorporation of sustainability in academic training and in the organizational philosophy of universities to promote a more conscious education oriented towards social and environmental action.
