The objective of this research is to determine the psychometric evidence of the Romantic Ghosting Scale in Adults of Trujillo. A quantitative, basic approach and instrumental design was used, applying the romantic ghosting scale of (Herrera-López 2024) to a sample of 1,224 adults between 18 and 40 years of age. The validity of the content was evaluated with a panel of seven specialists in the subject under the criteria of pertinence, relevance and clarity, where an Aiken V coefficient of 1 and p=0.000 was obtained. Regarding construct validity, exploratory factor analysis showed a KMO index of 0.84, explaining 52% of total variance, with the items aligned in three factors. In the confirmatory factor analysis, the bifactor model (M4) showed an acceptable fit with values of CFI and TLI = 0.98, an RSMEA of 0.091 and SRMR of 0.069, within the defined acceptable fit ranges. Convergent validity was evaluated by correlation between the romantic ghosting scale and the emotional dependence questionnaire, evidencing significant associations, especially in the emotional impact dimension. The reliability of the model was high (α = .96, ω = .97). It is concluded that the romantic ghosting scale has adequate psychometric properties, being a valid and reliable tool to evaluate this phenomenon in young adults.
