Abstract

CUNIA HUAMAN, Gloria. Oral expression in children at the initial level in Latin America: a systematic review. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.4, e504096.  Epub June 12, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14984659.

This article aimed to analyze the existing publications in Latin America during the period 2020-2024, on oral expression in children at the initial level. Methodologically, a systematic review was carried out, following the PRISMA proposal for the selection of articles. The final number of works consisted of 27 studies extracted from the Dialnet, Scielo, Ebsco and Google Scholar databases, with Ecuador being the country with the highest representation, followed by Peru and Cuba, with a predominance of qualitative approaches. The most effective strategies to improve oral expression in preschoolers include the use of games, children's stories, music, pictograms, and virtual tools, which encourage creativity and verbal interaction. Associated factors such as socioeconomic status, exposure to electronic devices, and parenting practices were also identified. The results show the need for early interventions to prevent difficulties in the articulation, comprehension and use of language, as well as the presence of language disorders in children.

Keywords : Latin America; oral expression; preschooler.
