Abstract
CONDESO CAMIZAN, Selman Dennis et al. Innovation and digitalization in education: a systematic review approach. Revista InveCom [online]. 2025, vol.5, n.4, e504114. Epub June 25, 2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15091336.
Scientific research plays a crucial role in educational transformation, facilitating the generation of knowledge, the improvement of teaching methodologies, and the formulation of evidence-based policies. Therefore, through a systematic review, this study analyzes the impact of scientific research on education, highlighting its influence on pedagogical innovation, teacher training, and the integration of emerging technologies. To this end, the PRISMA methodology was used, selecting 22 studies published between 2020 and 2025 indexed in Scopus. The findings showed that educational research not only strengthens teaching and learning but also fosters social justice, equity, and international collaboration. Emerging trends were also identified, such as the use of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in higher education. However, challenges persist in the implementation of these advances, including the gap between theory and practice, resistance to change, and a lack of teacher training in research. It is concluded that scientific research is a key driver for the development of more inclusive and dynamic education systems, but its impact depends on effective integration into educational policies and teaching practices. It is recommended that this research be expanded to underrepresented contexts and that interdisciplinary approaches be strengthened to maximize its influence in the education sector.
