Technological advances, together with an interest in dynamic pedagogical methods, have prompted teachers to explore innovative strategies to improve the understanding of complex scientific concepts. The objective of this study is to carry out a bibliometric analysis on the use of games as a didactic resource in science teaching during the period 2003-2024. For this study, bibliometric analysis was used as a research approach. To construct the indicators of scientific production, 285 Scopus documents were selected using the following keywords in English: games didactic, resource, science education. The results demonstrate the growing interest in this area, with an 82.8% increase in the number of papers published between 2014 and 2024. Spain tops the list of countries with a rate of 23.8% of scientific production. Eureka Magazine was the most prominent source with 12 articles and Hortsch, M. received 95 citations, becoming the most referenced author. In addition, social science papers accounted for 46% of the total number of publications, while 91.2% were scientific articles. It is concluded that since 2003 there has been an exponential growth in articles on games as a didactic resource in science education, emphasizing their importance in terms of the participation of institutions, the collaboration of authors and countries, as well as the availability and accessibility of bibliographic materials. These findings show the presence of a generation of important scientists who will support the research in the coming years.
