The strengthening of professional competencies in educational management teams is an essential factor in optimizing academic performance. This action not only promotes didactic innovations, but also improves the skills of students and teachers, favoring a comprehensive and collaborative learning environment that raises training standards in a sustainable and efficient way. The objective of this article is to understand the theoretical foundations that support professional development in management teams, identifying areas that require further research to deepen their analysis, as well as the promotion of effective training strategies that promote the continuous improvement of leadership competencies and strengthen organizational management praxis. The research was carried out using a qualitative approach, complemented by a bibliographic analysis. To ensure the breadth of sources, scientific databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, SciELO, Redalyc and Dialnet were consulted. Likewise, the Mendeley system was used for the correct management of references during the review phase. These strategies made it possible to guarantee the methodological rigor and comprehensive fidelity of the information obtained in the research process. The study analyzed innovative proposals related to teacher professional growth, the role of management teams, pedagogical leadership, continuous training and educational excellence. Likewise, essential dimensions within educational leadership were identified, such as: pedagogical management, administrative management, school community management, guidance and tutoring, as well as the supervision of laboratories and workshops.
