In response to growing social demands, there is a pressing need to adopt innovative educational approaches, including gamification, to increase the attractiveness of learning for students. Hence, this article aimed to analyze the use of innovative teaching materials as a playful strategy in the teaching and learning of secondary school students. To this end, a systematic review was carried out following the PRISMA methodology. The inclusion criteria focused on the relevance and contextualization of the topic, considering studies published in Latin America. The search was carried out in databases such as Google Scholar and ScienceDirect, identifying 15,207 articles published between 2021 and 2025. After the selection, 21 works were analyzed, without language restrictions. The main conclusion is that educational innovation in secondary schools has been implemented in various areas of knowledge, with the aim of presenting the content in a more enjoyable way and facilitating learning, integrating game elements and technological tools.
