Resumen
BAYONA RAMIREZ, Jean Carlos et al. Internal communication and work environment: A study in a Peruvian municipality. Revista InveCom [online]. 2026, vol.6, n.1, e601037. Epub 15-Jul-2025. ISSN 2739-0063. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15314782.
Within the complex context of municipal institutions in Peru, internal communication and work environment stand out as fundamental elements. Therefore, this study analyzes the relationship between these variables in 33 employees of the Los Órganos District Municipality in Piura. The approach adopted is positivist, with a descriptive-correlational level, a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional analysis. Face-to-face surveys were used for data collection. The descriptive results were presented in frequency tables, while parametric tests, specifically Pearson's correlation coefficient, were used for inferential analysis. The findings reveal a positive and significant correlation between organizational communication and work environment, with a coefficient of 0.836 (p < 0.000). Furthermore, it was shown that communication influences various dimensions of the work environment, such as motivation (r = 0.747, p < 0.000), job satisfaction (r = 0.843, p < 0.000), and organizational culture (r = 0.425, p < 0.000). These results offer valuable insights for municipal administration, supporting the need to implement strategic improvements in communication infrastructure and foster an inclusive work culture. In sum, this study provides clear evidence of the importance of strengthening internal communication channels to promote a positive work environment, which can significantly contribute to municipal institutional development.
