Resumen

TORRES GAMARRA, Néstor  y  ZUNIGA CARNERO, Manuel. University job board and job placement systems: an analysis of their effectiveness and equity. Revista InveCom [online]. 2026, vol.6, n.1, e601091.  Epub 15-Jul-2025. ISSN 2739-0063.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15605476.

The job placement of university students and graduates is a key indicator of educational quality and connection with the socioeconomic environment. This study analyzed the job board system of the Catholic University of Santa María (UCSM) during the 2022-2024 period, evaluating its efficiency and equity in the distribution of opportunities among programs. A mixed methodology was applied, combining historical-logical and quantitative analysis of institutional records. In three years, the system managed 3,617 job openings, with a 42% increase in vacancies between 2022 and 2023. The faculties with the most opportunities were Physical Sciences and Engineering (32%), Economics and Administrative Sciences (28%), and Social Sciences and Humanities (21%). The most in-demand programs were Administration (16%), Commercial Engineering (13%), and Industrial Engineering (12%). However, a 16% reduction in the number of bidding companies was detected, along with low participation from the healthcare sector, with less than 5% of offers. Furthermore, the system exhibited technological limitations compared to platforms such as LinkedIn or Empleos Perú. It is concluded that it is necessary to modernize the digital infrastructure, strengthen sectoral alliances, and establish impact indicators, such as hiring rates and graduate follow-up, to improve the effectiveness and reach of the UCSM job board system.
