Abstract

ANGULO-GAROFALO, Marco Andrés; URRUTIA-GUEVARA, Jeannette Amparito  and  LACH-TENECOTA, Wladimir. Financial growth in commercial enterprises in the Guaranda Canton. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp1, pp.433-450.  Epub Nov 30, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365.  https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i1.403.

The study analyzes the financial growth of commercial SMEs in Guaranda, showing that they face structural constraints such as low liquidity, limited profitability, and poor access to formal financing. Using a mixed approach, Likert-type surveys and semi-structured interviews were conducted with entrepreneurs in the textile, food, automotive, and industrial sectors. The results reveal that, although many companies have been operating for more than seven years, they have not made significant progress in productivity or commercial expansion. Local competition, tax compliance, and technology adoption emerge as critical factors. A dependence on bank and supplier credit was identified, as well as difficulties in implementing accounting standards without external advice. Data triangulation allowed for the validation of trends and the proposal of strategies such as the digitization of sales, the strengthening of internal control, and financial planning. The study concludes that sustained growth requires coordination between innovation, regulation, and access to resources adapted to the local context.
