REATIQUI-AREQUIPA, Maribel Johana; PINDA-GUANOLEMA, Bayron Ramiro and ROMERO-FERNANDEZ, Ariel José. Fuzzy logic as an evaluation tool for the portfolio of the western savings and credit cooperative. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp1, pp.711-726. Epub Nov 30, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365. https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i1.441.
In order to mediate efficiently and grow, financial institutions require consistent analyses that optimize and manage resources, redistributing surplus deposits to customers who demand financing. Therefore, this research applies fuzzy logic to evaluate the investment portfolio of Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Occidental in 2021. This tool allows experts to weigh the degree of importance of variables. The following were analyzed: portfolio concentration, relationship with equity, risk rating, capital, asset quality, management, profitability, liquidity, reputational risk, financial losses, interest rate, contingency plans, reciprocity agreements, service quality, and response times. The results show that each variable is relevant according to officials and demonstrate that fuzzy logic optimally evaluates portfolio characteristics from this perspective, contributing to informed and efficient decision-making. Thus, this research provides a methodological framework for improving financial sustainability.
