Abstract

CHICA-CAMPUZANO, Andrea Estefanía; CHACON-GOMEZ, Nayibe Eloina  and  CASTRO-SANCHEZ, Fernando de Jesús. Doctrinal and regulatory analysis on the integration of blockchain technology into notarial services in Ecuador. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp1, pp.1262-1282.  Epub Nov 30, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365.  https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i1.488.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Ecuador accelerated the incorporation of telematic notarial acts in order to protect the integrity and health of citizens. This regulatory transformation gave rise to a set of provisions on the use of electronic platforms for the performance of notarial procedures in compliance with security standards, in accordance with the Constitution and the law. The objective of the research is to analyze the legal framework regarding telematic notarial services through regulatory and doctrinal study in order to verify the feasibility of integrating blockchain technology into notarial services in the Republic of Ecuador. Using a qualitative descriptive, analytical, and explanatory method, the applicable rules and legislation are examined to verify that there are no legal limitations to the implementation of this technology, guaranteeing transparency, immutability, and secure registration of notarial acts.

Keywords : Blockchain technology; secure electronic notarial platform; notarial services; telematic notarial acts..
