Abstract
SINALIN-ALTAMIRANO, Luis Oswaldo; URRUTIA-GUEVARA, Jeannette Amparito and LACH-TENECOTA, Wladimir. The inventory control system in the automotive industry in Ambato. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp1, pp.1420-1436. Epub Nov 30, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365. https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i1.501.
Internal control is essential for the automotive industry, as it guarantees timely information for decision-making and proper inventory management, which is strategic for meeting goals. The objective of this study was to evaluate the inventory control system in this sector in the city of Ambato. The current situation was analyzed using a mixed methodology, predominantly quantitative and based on surveys. The results show the need to implement a robust internal control system, incorporating new methods and procedures to mitigate risks, ensure the quality of materials, and optimize their availability. It is concluded that a visible, orderly, and up-to-date inventory is required to generate strategies for improving production, sales, and after-sales processes, thus contributing to operational efficiency and risk reduction.
