This scientific article addresses the role of notaries as guarantors of peace in inheritance disputes. Using a qualitative approach, it analyzes the evolution of the Ecuadorian notarial profession, highlighting its potential to prevent family and legal disputes. The research emphasizes the importance of prompt conflict resolution, promoting the efficiency of the legal system and a culture of peace. It raises the possibility of granting notaries the power to mediate in inheritance disputes, which could have far-reaching implications for the resolution of inheritance disputes in Ecuador. It highlights the need for a gradual transition in laws and society to strengthen the role of the notary as a builder of legal stability and promoter of an environment based on trust and respect.
