Abstract
FLORES-FLORES, Mayra Fernanda; URRUTIA-GUEVARA, Jeannette Amparito and LACH-TENECOTA, Wladimir. Inventories management in industrial companies in Cotopaxi. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp1, pp.1929-1944. Epub Nov 30, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365. https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i1.567.
This study contextualized inventory management as a critical function for industrial operations and profitability in Cotopaxi. The objective was to evaluate inventory control practices for raw materials, processes, and finished products in industrial companies in the province. Surveys and descriptive analysis of inventory indicators were applied, complemented by qualitative techniques to explore staff perceptions, on a population of large industries in the area. The results showed that 50% rated management as good, 37% as poor, and 13% as bad; only 25% perceived clarity in stock information, while 58% considered it poor. Shrinkage and losses due to inadequate control were identified. It was concluded that it was necessary to strengthen real-time monitoring, standardize replenishment policies, train staff, and adopt technologies to improve efficiency and decision-making.
