The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador recognizes the country as a plurinational and intercultural state, guaranteeing the rights of indigenous nationalities and peoples. Within this framework, the research focuses on critically analyzing the exercise and application of indigenous justice in the Ecuadorian legal system, with an emphasis on the community of Pangua, Guaranda canton, in the year 2023. The main objective of this research is to promote harmony between ordinary justice and indigenous justice. Research methods were applied at the theoretical and empirical level, in order to collect information and analyze the object of the study. The findings highlight the need to raise awareness among ordinary justice operators about legal pluralism. It is concluded that indigenous justice remains subordinate to ordinary justice, which highlights the urgent need to strengthen pluralism in the Plurinational State.
