Abstract
JURADO-VELASQUEZ, Javier Alexander and ROMERO-FERNANDEZ, Ariel José. Profiles of economic behavior among students in two university degree programs in Ecuador. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp2, pp.1056-1070. Epub Dec 31, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365. https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i2.634.
Understanding the different behavioural profiles of students is crucial to assess the effectiveness of vocational training in the university environment. This research aims to compare the profiles of economic behavior between students of the Business and Business Administration career and the Sound and Acoustics Engineering career of two Higher Education institutions in Ecuador. To this end, the Human Action's Test was applied to its students. Contrary to the initial hypothesis, the statistical analysis, carried out using a chi-square test, did not reveal significant differences between the economic profiles of the students of the two careers studied. This finding suggests that current academic training is not effectively shaping students' economic behavior, indicating a possible disconnect from the demands of the contemporary business environment.
