Abstract
MACIAS-FERNANDEZ, Mayra Mercedes and ROMERO-FERNANDEZ, Ariel José. Organizational Commitment in Workers of the Social Security Directorate in the Province of Los Ríos. Noesis [online]. 2025, vol.7, n.esp2, pp.1071-1087. Epub Dec 31, 2025. ISSN 2739-0365. https://doi.org/10.35381/noesisin.v7i2.635.
Organizational commitment is a fundamental pillar for the effectiveness of public organizations. This study focuses on analyzing the level of this commitment among employees of the Provincial Directorate of IESS Los Ríos, with the aim of determining the sociocultural and behavioral factors that affect their productivity and evaluating the impact of these factors on the public administration of the entity. Using a mixed methodology and applying a validated questionnaire to 50 employees, based on the Meyer & Allen model, a highly reliable instrument was obtained. The results reveal that, although 56% of employees aspire to pursue a career within the institution, 62% have temporary contracts, which could influence a predominantly calculated rather than emotional commitment. This study concludes that job stability and institutional recognition are key determinants in strengthening the bond between public servants and the organization, directly impacting the quality of citizen services.
