The communication process is influenced by the culture of the communities and in the same way, one of its interrelated elements is language, which can be expressed orally or in writing. In this essay, the general objective was established to know the history of written language and its impact on English as a mechanism for human communication in the context of social culture. For the development of this work, a documentary investigation was carried out through which the pertinent and congruent information with the main purpose of this text was chosen. In this way, it was understood that language is one of the elements that are inextricably attached to culture, which affects its development and with this, in manifestations such as writing, an evolution has been presented throughout the history of human culture, which has influenced English to constitute it as the language that is used more widely in the 21st century, thereby entailing a cultural manifestation that helps catalyze global interactions among people.
