Resumen

DIAZ, Carlos  y  GARCIA, Yuraima. The role of the researcher and ethics: The tireless life struggle. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2024, vol.2, e-RMS06122024.  Epub 03-Jun-2025. ISSN 2960-2467.  https://doi.org/10.61286/e-rms.v2i.55.

Ethics arises as a need for human beings to put order in all their aspects of life, but above all a limit in those fields where their own existence is at stake. It is a secret to no one that for the growth and development of humanity, the use of different unusual investigative methods and avenues, proclaimed in the name of progress and life, have only been part of a false agenda for personal and business use, mercantilist and utilitarian order. However, supported by morality, ethics consolidates the links of what is considered right or wrong, good and bad, without losing their way. For the researcher, ethics constitutes his guide and beacon of light, whose role in the field of scientific research is crucial, since his work has a direct impact on the generation of knowledge and on society in general, this role entails great ethical responsibility, which must be addressed in a comprehensive manner where ethical principles prevail and are exalted, such as beneficence, non-maleficence, justice and autonomy. This essay seeks to highlight the importance of the emergence and application of ethics in research and the role that the researcher must play, without crossing or violating the limits that personal and social ethics allow. But rather that they are seen and interpreted, as a way of life for the researcher.

Palabras clave : ethics; researcher; ethical principles.
