The COVID-19 pandemic has generated an unprecedented transformation in global educational scenarios that has had an impact on emotional intelligence and student performance. For this reason, the objective was proposed to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and post-pandemic academic performance in students at a University in the Province of Chanchamayo. The research was carried out under the quantitative approach of a descriptive correlational and cross-sectional type carried out in period II of the year 2022. The sample was made up of 162 students from the professional schools of administration - systems and accounting - finance of a University of the province of Chanchamayo - period II-2022. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire duly validated by expert judgment was applied. SPSS software was used and the statistical test was Spearman's Rho correlation. As results, a strong positive correlation was found between emotional intelligence and academic performance; supported by a (r = 0.756; and a p value of 0.000); which is why the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. These findings indicate that the pandemic has had a significant impact on students' emotional intelligence, which in turn has affected their academic performance, highlighting the importance of addressing and strengthening emotional intelligence in educational settings to improve student performance in situations challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.
