Resumen

GODINO POMA, Francisco Cyl. Perceptions of the historical and architectural value of peruvian bridges: Maintenance perspectives and application of AASHTO-LRFD method requirements. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2024, vol.2, e-RMS03112024.  Epub 03-Jun-2025. ISSN 2960-2467.  https://doi.org/10.61286/e-rms.v2i.75.

The preservation and maintenance of historical bridges in Peru are essential to ensure structural safety and the continuity of cultural heritage. However, many of these bridges face significant challenges due to deterioration from environmental factors and the lack of a systematic approach to their conservation. An analysis of five historical bridges revealed that the Bolognesi Bridge and the Fierro Bridge received 90.55% favorable responses in the History category, standing out for their antiquity and construction techniques, although they exhibit significant seismic vulnerabilities. The Bridge of Sighs achieved 88.98% in Tourist Popularity but showed deficiencies in its resistance to moisture and insects. In terms of structural capacity, the Bolognesi Bridge has a natural frequency of 2.3 Hz and a maximum displacement under load, indicating good stability. The Reque Bridge, being more modern, demonstrated a natural frequency of 5.2 Hz and minimal displacements, meeting AASHTO-LRFD standards. These findings underscore the urgent need for specific interventions to improve seismic resistance and ensure the preservation of architectural heritage. Additionally, a linear static analysis showed that all bridges comply with AASHTO service criteria, exhibiting deformations within acceptable limits. Simulations under real vehicular load conditions confirmed that the bridges can support current and future traffic without compromising their structural integrity.
