Abstract

VERA ZUNA, Johnny Fernando et al. Educational innovation: Integration of gamification and pedagogical strategies for children and young people. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2025, vol.3, e-RMS03012025.  Epub June 25, 2025. ISSN 2960-2467.  https://doi.org/10.61286/e-rms.v3i.143.

The implementation of pedagogical methodologies based on gamification in diverse educational contexts has proven to be an effective strategy for improving student learning. Using a qualitative approach, the impact of these methodologies on motivation, engagement, and the development of cognitive skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving was evaluated. The selection of participants included teachers and students from different educational levels, using intentional sampling that allowed activities to be adapted to the particular characteristics of each group. Through direct observation and semi-structured interviews, data were collected on the level of interaction, engagement, and perception of participants regarding gamified activities. The results indicate that gamification has a significant impact on student motivation and engagement. Additionally, the incorporation of technological tools and playful elements transformed learning into a more active and meaningful experience. However, important challenges were identified, such as the need to design clear and accessible materials, as well as to personalize activities to meet the diverse needs of students. In conclusion, gamification presents itself as a versatile and effective methodology for promoting inclusive and dynamic learning. Its successful implementation requires adequate teacher training and personalized strategies to maximize its potential in the classroom.
