Abstract

The general objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral program to address emotional dependence in women victims of intimate partner violence in Trujillo -Peru, 2024. This research contributes to the third Sustainable Development Goal: Health and Well-being that allows develop strategies where women can live a quality life in social environments, including their physical and emotional well-being. A quantitative approach was used, with an experimental research design. The sample consisted of 30 women victims of intimate partner violence. The instrument used was the Emotional Dependency Inventory (IDE). The results indicate that the cognitive behavioral program is efficiently significant in the management of emotional dependency. The intervention reduced emotional dependence with a mean difference of 152.5 (SD: 6.8, t = 123.1, p < 0.001) and a 95% confidence interval between 149.9 and 155.0. In addition, notable reductions were observed in the dimensions of emotional dependence: fear of breakup (from 49.9 to 12.2), intolerance of loneliness (from 35.3 to 15.3) and priority of the partner (from 27.2 to 9.8), among others. In conclusion, using the behavioral program is an efficient tool to address the problem raised.
