ROSERO MORAN, Lilia Soraya; FREIRE AVILES, Roger Marcelo and ARMIJOS SACA, Rubén Antonio. The impact of managerial leadership and public administration on the institutional and academic performance of public educational centers in Ecuador addresses the need to understand how these practices affect outcomes in institutions facing resource limitations and structural challenges. The objective was to identify strategies to optimize public administration and improve educational performance. To this end, a mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methods that provided a comprehensive view of the phenomenon. The methodology included a descriptive-correlational design, selecting a sample of 100 directors, teachers, and administrative staff from public educational centers in various regions. Quantitative data were collected through Likert-type questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software with descriptive and correlational statistics; while semi-structured interviews provided a qualitative perspective, processed through thematic analysis in Atlas.ti, on leadership strategies and challenges. The research reveals that managerial leadership and public administration are key factors in the academic and institutional performance of public educational centers in Ecuador. Transformational leadership improves organizational culture, teacher motivation, and academic outcomes. It is concluded that strong leadership and strategic management are essential to optimize institutional performance. It is crucial to train educational leaders, invest in teacher training, and establish inclusive and effective evaluation systems. These strategies will strengthen the public educational system in Ecuador and achieve higher quality standards.
