Abstract
VILLEGAS-TELLO, Daniel Hernán et al. Intervention Program for the Reduction of Suicidal Ideation in School-Based Adolescents - Trujillo, Perú-2024. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2025, vol.3, e-RMS06022025. Epub June 25, 2025. ISSN 2960-2467. https://doi.org/10.61286/e-rms.v3i.138.
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of an intervention program on the reduction of suicidal ideation in school adolescents in Trujillo. Aligning with the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) promoting healthy lives and emotional well-being for adolescents. The research was developed under a quantitative, applied approach, with a pre-experimental design. The population consisted of 23 school adolescents selected through probability sampling. The Paykel Suicidal Ideation Scale was used as an assessment instrument, which has an internal reliability of Cronbach's alpha of 0.814 and McDonald's omega of 0.823. For statistical analysis, the SPSS version 25 program was used. Since the sample was less than 50 participants, the Shapiro-Wilk test was used to assess the normality of the data. Subsequently, inferential tests were applied, including the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the asymptotic significance value (p-value) obtained was 0.003, which was lower than the commonly used threshold of 0.05, which indicates a statistically significant difference between the scores obtained in the pre-test and the post-test after the intervention. The results reflected a significant impact, generating measurable changes between the initial and final measurements. It is concluded that the program applied was effective in reducing the risk of suicidal ideation among the participating adolescents, standing out as a viable and effective intervention for this population group
