The emotional well-being of students with special educational needs in the university setting is a key factor for their inclusion and academic success. However, these students face various barriers that affect their adaptation and performance. This research analyzes the challenges and strategies to promote their emotional well-being in Ecuadorian universities. The aim of the study was to identify the current conditions of emotional well-being of students with special educational needs and evaluate the relationship between psycho-emotional, institutional, social, academic, legal, and family factors in their inclusion process. The methodology used was a descriptive-correlational design with a quantitative approach. A structured survey was administered to 200 participants, including students with special educational needs, teachers, and administrative staff from public and private universities. The data were analyzed using descriptive and correlational statistics with SPSS software. The results showed that 24.50% of students perceive a low level of emotional well-being, while 26.50% consider it high. 22.00% indicated that universities have adequate inclusive policies, but 19.00% stated that infrastructure is inadequate. In the social aspect, 25.5% feel supported by their peers and teachers, while 20.50% perceive isolation. No significant correlations were found between the analyzed dimensions. In conclusion, although there has been progress in university inclusion, challenges related to psycho-emotional support, teacher training, academic accessibility, and institutional awareness persist. It is recommended to strengthen support strategies and rights awareness to ensure an inclusive environment.
