PIERRE, Chipana Loayza; HUARACA GARCIA, Ana Mónica; ZURITA ALANIA, Simon Alejandro  y  RAMOS PARRA, Aldo Abel. Formative research and its relationship with methodological strategies at the Universidad Peruana Los Andes. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2025, vol.3, e-RMS15022025.  Epub 25-Jun-2025. Research is fundamental to the development of society, driving scientific and technological progress. However, in Peru, investment in research is low compared to other countries. Higher education faces the challenge of training professionals with strong research skills, and universities play a crucial role in generating knowledge. The National Education Project highlights the importance of formal research and the development of research skills. In this context, the aim was to determine the relationship between formative research and the methodological strategies used by students at Universidad Peruana Los Andes in 2022. A quantitative, non-experimental, correlational study was conducted with a sample of 129 students from two faculties. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used to measure formative research and methodological strategies. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the chi-square test. According to the results, students perceived that methodological strategies were applied "sometimes" in their research training. No significant differences were found between faculties in the perception of these practices. However, a statistically significant association was found between formative research and methodological strategies. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a favorable correlation between methodological strategies and the effectiveness of formative research. It is suggested that the implementation of innovative pedagogical strategies and research in teaching should be improved. Research training should be transversal throughout the academic career.
